Accessibility: 
Special facilities for the handicapped students:

  • flexible study programs,
  • appointing representatives or offices for handling affairs of the handicapped,
  • founding student career offices helping with the questions related to entering the labor market,
  • fitting didactic rooms with specialist equipment facilitating the education,
  • providing assistance for the handicapped as well as sign language interpreters during the time at the university,
  • offering financial assistance (need-based grants).

Accommodation: Accommodation in rooms adapted to the needs of the handicapped in the dorms of the Szczecin University (adapted rooms and toilets).

Learning support

The main goal of the Office’s operation is to provide the handicapped students of the Szczecin University with studying conditions equal to those of the others. Among others, the Office:

  • takes active part in the liquidation of mental, communication and architecture barriers;
  • organizes cultural and integrative events;
  • cooperates with the handicapped and represents their interests and needs;
  • provides the handicapped applicants with the information on the recruitment and the University’s assistance abilities;
  • increases and accessibility of studying at the Szczecin University;
  • provides assistance in the form of practical support and information;
  • solves individual problems.

Handicapped students at the Szczecin University may count on:

  • the help in gaining funds from PFRON (Student Program), from „Aktywny Samorząd” – MOPR and special grants from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education,
  • the aid of didactic assistants,
  • learning in didactic rooms fitted with technical equipment facilitating education of the handicapped students,
  • alternative form of taking exams.
