The University of Szczecin provides the accommodation for all incoming exchange students who in their application said they want to live in a student dormitory.
Rooms are available:
from mid-September – students coming for the winter semester or full year  ! DORMITORY FOR 2023/24 STUDENTS WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM 21 SEPT. DUE TO THE ONGOING RENOVATIONS !
from mid-February – students coming for the summer semester
to end of February – students coming only for the winter semester
to mid-July – students coming for full year or summer semester.

The dormitory offers only double rooms to incoming exchange students – the IRD does not interfere with the rooms, as the dormitories are separate units!

Of course, students are free to look for a room/apartment on the private market – the IO does not provide help with that.

Student Residence Halls - prices

UPDATED on 29/09/2023 by the Order No. 115/2023 of the Rector of the University of Szczecin:

Price for the academic year 2023/2024:
place in a double room with a shared bathroom – 620 PLN per calendar month

equipment in the double room

Student Residence Halls - payments

Information about how and when to make the payments will be given shortly after your check-in in the dormitory.

If a student arrives or leaves in the middle of or towards the end of a particular month, the rent will be calculated on the basis of the number of nights the room has been occupied in the arrival month.

Monthly notice about date of departure is necessary in order not to pay for the whole month!

Example:

Double room
Period of stay: February 15th – June 25th,

Rent for February is calculated as: number of nights x the current rate per night determined by the Head of the student hall

Rent for March, April, May, June = ca 75 – 85 euro / month (300-330 PLN)

It is possible to move out of the student hall at any given time. However, if it happens just after the 1st of a given month and the student fails to inform the management in due time, s/he will be obliged to pay the whole monthly rent for the room even in case it has been occupied for 5 or 10 days. To avoid such situations, it is advisable to notify the Head of the student hall one month before the given month ends and move out at the end of this month.

Please observe the payment deadlines. In case of a delay, the head of the student hall in question officially informs the university authorities and the person who evades paying can be expelled from the student hall.

No certificates will be issued to students who have not settled the rent for the renting period!

Student Residence Halls - contact

Please note that your primary contact is in the International Office! A proper contact person will give you information about your accommodation and will answer your questions about it.

Ask your tutor and Polish friends for help to look for information on faculty notice boards and in local media.

There are always some informal boards at the faculties packed with notices informing about possible room/ flat rentals.

You can also look for rooms/apartments on websites, such as https://www.olx.pl/nieruchomosci/szczecin/ or https://ogloszenia.infoludek.pl/ogloszenia/kategorie/short/nieruchomosci_wynajme.xhtml, which are, unfortunately, mostly in Polish. Ask your ESN mentor for help!
