IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR 2026/2027
We are unable to confirm with absolute certainty that all incoming students will receive a place in the dormitory. We will do everything we can to provide all willing students with university accommodation, but specific information and assignments will be sent to interested applicants in July/August 2026.
All students are welcome to look for private accommodation for their exchange period.

Specific dormitory is assigned to students depending on places availability.
Some dorm photos and addresses: https://admissions.usz.edu.pl/student-residence-hall/ (exchange students are usually placed either in Kordecki, or Portowiec – explicit information are given to students by the IRD staff in due time).

In 2025/26, rooms are available:
from end of September (25th for Kordecki, 29th for Portowiec) – students coming for the winter semester or full year
from mid-February (exact dates TBA) – students coming for the summer semester
to end of February – students coming only for the winter semester
to mid-July – students coming for full year or summer semester.

The dormitory offers mostly double rooms to incoming exchange students – the IRD does not interfere with the rooms, as the dormitories are separate units!
Dormitory and room allocation are in the hands of the dormitories director.

Of course, students are free to look for a room/apartment on the private market – the IRD does not act as an agent in finding private accommodation.

Student Residence Halls - payments

Payments should be made until 15th day of each month. If you fail to do the payment in a given month, your resident card will stop working at the end of that month and you may be asked to move out of the dorm entirely.
Information about how and when to make the payments will be given shortly after your check-in in the dormitory.

If a student arrives or leaves in the middle of or towards the end of a particular month, the rent will be calculated on the basis of the number of nights the room has been occupied in the arrival month.

Monthly departure notice is necessary in order not to pay for the whole month!
It is possible to move out of the student hall at any given time. However, if it happens just after the 1st of a given month and the student fails to inform the management in due time, they will be obliged to pay the whole monthly rent for the room even in case it has been occupied for 5 or 10 days. To avoid such situations, it is advisable to notify the Head of the student hall one month before the given month ends and move out at the end of this month.

Please observe the payment deadlines. In case of a delay, the head of the student hall in question officially informs the university authorities and the person who evades paying can be expelled from the student hall.

No certificates will be issued to students who have not settled the rent for the renting period!

Ask your tutor and Polish friends for help to look for information on faculty notice boards and in local media.

There are always some informal boards at the faculties packed with notices informing about possible room/ flat rentals.

You can also look for rooms/apartments on websites, such as https://www.olx.pl/nieruchomosci/szczecin/ or https://ogloszenia.infoludek.pl/ogloszenia/kategorie/short/nieruchomosci_wynajme.xhtml, which are, unfortunately, mostly in Polish. Ask your ESN mentor for help!
