MKDUS 2.0. IV Multidisciplinary Conference of PhD Students of the University of Szczecin

MKDUS 2.0. IV Multidisciplinary Conference of PhD Students of the University of Szczecin

The Doctoral School of the University of Szczecin is pleased to invite you for the fourth time to the MKDUS 2.0 – International Multidisciplinary Conference of PhD Students. The Conference will be held on 19-21.06.2024 on the MS Teams platform. Last year’s editions were very popular for Polish and foreign participants. During the Conference, Speakers had the opportunity to share their diverse interests, and their inspiring speeches were an excellent introduction to the discussion.

We believe that this year will be the same, and the interdisciplinary nature of the Conference will be a new experience for you and will allow you to network with people representing different fields of science. This is the only opportunity to exchange your inspirations. The conference will be held online through the MS Teams platform.

    GREEN PANEL – 19.06.2024
    Scientific Challenges of Modern Human

The green panel is for disciplines such as: mathematics, biological sciences, physical sciences, earth and environmental sciences, physical culture sciences, medical sciences, health sciences, animal science and fisheries, veterinary science and other related disciplines, additional discipline is sociology.

This year’s theme will be: Scientific Challenges of Modern Human. Due to the wide range of disciplines included in the green panel, we want to give PhD students space to speak freely and present their research. If you count complex equations, deal with the mysteries of the Earth and the cosmos, or are interested in mechanisms and processes in human or animal organisms, the green panel is just for you. We invite you on the first day to participate in the next, already the 4th edition of the MKDUS 2.0 to present speeches and participate in the discussion. Speeches can be presented in Polish and English, and the maximum speaking time is 10 minutes.

    RED PANEL – 20.06.2024
War and peace – the challenges of modern humanities

On the second day of the MKDUS 2.0, we invite you to present papers from the fields of philosophy, history, linguistics, literary studies, theological sciences, cultural and religious sciences, pedagogy and psychology.

The theme of this year’s red humanities panel is: War and Peace – Challenges of Modern Humanities. We would like to explore the problem of the world around us, in which the word war appears more often, and the longed-for peace for millions of people in the world is becoming more and more distant.

We are open to all topics related to the above issues. Together we want to create a space to discuss war and peace in a historical, theological or philosophical context, but also to rethink the meaning of these (distant) concepts and the way they are presented in literature and art.

The current global situation poses new challenges to which the humanities cannot remain indifferent. It is high time to focus on pacifist ideas, the collective and generational experience of trauma, notions of post-memory, languages of silence, or relic borders. If you would like to share the results of your research on the challenges of contemporary humanities in the face of other pressing topics facing the contemporary humanities, you are also cordially invited to actively participate in the MKDUS 2.0 conference. We hope that together we will create a place to exchange knowledge and insights on the rapidly changing world. Speeches can be presented in Polish and English, and the maximum speaking time is 20 minutes.

During the Purple Panel, listeners will be able to listen to speeches by outstanding experts in selected scientific disciplines who will open the third day of the conference. Then, there will be a session of presentations by PhD students, which will be divided into four panels, according to the topics covered by the speakers.
